Me: "Probably about the time you want to pass this class and graduate."
Student: "No, I mean in real life?"
Me: "Do you mean that this isn't real life? Have I been dreaming this entire time?!? SOMEONE WAKE ME UP!"
I gave Mr Baker a real life example of "real life" application of Pythagoras' Theorum involving how to calculate the number of parajumpers that can land on a drop zone. Let me know if you want it, I'd be happy to share a "real life" example.

Most of the time I provide better examples, but I was feeling a bit spunky yesterday.
DeleteUnfortunately there are large blocks of un-applicable math that you have to know before you can actually use it, and right now we are in one of those blocks.
